Exult Healthcare has joined in on an innovative new approach to solving the opiate epidemic in Collin County. Championed by District Attorney Gregg Willis, the program seeks to provide treatment as an alternative to incarceration for those who are trapped in the cycle of opiate addiction.
Selected due to our ability to provide the full spectrum of integrated behavioral health, Exult will serve those persons in the program who have private health care coverage. The program consists of a combination of Vivitrol based Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and a long-term structured counseling and education based Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that features a gradual step-down approach to care. It is based on the length and phase process that has been demonstrated in multiple studies as providing the best outcomes.
For those not yet familiar with Vivitrol, there is much good news. Vivitrol is a once-monthly injectable version of the well-studied and highly effective medication Naltrexone. Naltrexone works to eliminate cravings for either opiates or alcohol and is now even used in the popular diet medication Contrave to control overeating. Vivitrol/Naltrexone is a completely non-addictive medication with 0% euphoria induction and 0% withdrawal syndrome upon cessation.
Exult Healthcare is excited to have been selected for this program. Medical supervision will be provided by Dr. Deepika Bhargava. Dr. Bhargava has recently been voted by her peers as one of the best Psychiatrists in the greater Dallas area in “D” Magazine.
